My stunning Spice lived with some very dear friends of mine – Jeff & Nikki and their two children Alyssa & Joel.  She made it to the grand old age of 14yrs.   Nicknamed “Princess”  Spice was a very special girl. Being the only bitch in her litter, she had to make sure she had the upper paw on all the boys! She had a wonderful zest for life. Spice had a habit that her long legs arrived everywhere 10 mins before her brain did and hence was always cutting her feet. I am sure she holds the record for the most attendances to the vet for sliced pads.

On 1st October 2000 “Spice” was awarded BEST IN SHOW at the Rhodesian Ridgeback Club Inc. Championship Specialty Show held in Sydney (yes, the Olympic City!) – under Judge Mrs. Stacey Davis (USA) who has owned, bred and exhibited Ridgebacks for 25 years.  Mrs. Davis also awarded Spice, Best Gaited Bitch.  The breed entry for this show was 158.  This was Spice’s last show for 2000.   This was certainly the best way to top off a great year of showing in 2000.  Winning Gold, Gold, Gold for Macumazahn Kennels.

Spice’s first BEST IN SHOW was in March, 1999 at the South Australian Championship Specialty, under Judge Mr. Bernard Fears (Nz).  She was also awarded Best Headed Bitch.

Spice had her first litter on 26th May, 1999 – which produced “Biscuit” and her second litter on 29th April, 2002 – which produced “Spin”.  She was a wonderful mother to her puppies and alway enjoyed playing with her grand daughter  “Ripple” & great-grand daughter “Splash”.

Spice will always be cherished & missed – most of all, she will be forever loved.
